What styling services does Rogue Salon offer?
Styling at Rogue Salon covers blowouts, Go Out Blowouts with hot tool waves or curls, up-dos and down-dos, and bridal hair. Brides can book a bridal trial, then day of event styling for themselves and their bridal party. It's for you if you want polished hair for a busy week, a night out, or your wedding.
Who books styling at Rogue?
Plenty of our blowout guests just want a week of easy hair. A smooth, bouncy blow dry on Monday can carry you through meetings and school pickups. Others come in before a party, a gala, or a dinner in Red Bank.
Then there are brides. Wedding season at the shore means outdoor ceremonies, sea breeze, and humid evenings. We pin and set every event style to hold through photos, dancing, and whatever the weather does.
What's on the styling menu?
- Blowout. A smooth, bouncy blow dry.
- Go Out Blowout (with hot tool styling). A blow dry plus hot tool waves or curls.
- Up-Dos & Down-Dos. Pinned or half up styling for any occasion.
- Up-do/Down-do with Wash & Blowout. The same styling, starting with a fresh wash and blow dry.
- Bridal Trial. A run through of your wedding day look.
- Day of Event for Bride and Day of Event for Bridal Party. Wedding morning styling for you and each member of your party.
Blowout rates scale with stylist level, and our apprentices offer a blowout at a lower rate. Every current rate is on our Service Menu.
How does a styling appointment work?
- Talk it through. Tell us the event, the outfit, and the neckline. A photo of the look you want helps a lot.
- Prep. If you booked a wash, we shampoo and blow dry first. For an up-do without a wash, come in with clean, dry hair.
- Build. We round brush for volume, add hot tool waves or curls, or section and pin for an up-do or down-do.
- Set. We use long wearing products and careful pinning so the style holds from the first photo to the last dance.
- Check every angle. We show you the back and sides in the mirror and adjust anything you want changed.
How do you make a blowout or up-do last?
For a blowout, sleep with your hair loosely twisted up on top of your head. On day two, a little dry shampoo at the roots brings back lift. Skip the gym steam room if you can, since sweat and steam drop volume fast.
For an up-do, take pins out slowly, starting from the bottom. Work a bit of conditioner through any knots before you brush it out. If you want soft waves after the event, a fresh blowout or a smoothing treatment can make styling easier next time. See our smoothing treatments.
How does bridal hair work at Rogue?
Start with a Bridal Trial ahead of the wedding. We test your look and time it, so your wedding morning stays calm and on schedule.
Bring photos, your veil or hair piece if you'll wear one, and a picture of your dress. On the day, Day of Event for Bride covers your styling. Day of Event for Bridal Party covers each member of your group. A fresh haircut a few weeks before helps your ends look healthy in photos.
Who does styling at Rogue?
Briana leads our event styling. She has over 8 years in the hair industry and specializes in formal and special occasion updo styling. Sharon and Maria both list event styling, and Maria and Brittani also braid. For blowouts, Katie, Bella, and Hannah list blowouts as a specialty. Maddie, our Senior Apprentice, does blowouts and styling too.

Styling questions
What's the difference between a Blowout and a Go Out Blowout?
A Blowout is a smooth, bouncy blow dry with a round brush. A Go Out Blowout adds hot tool styling, so you leave with waves or curls on top of the blow dry. Pick the Go Out Blowout for a dinner, party, or photos, and the Blowout for everyday polish.
Do I need to wash my hair before an up-do?
For Up-Dos and Down-Dos, please arrive with clean, dry hair. If you'd rather we handle the wash, book the Up-do/Down-do with Wash and Blowout instead. That option starts with a fresh shampoo and blow dry before we pin or style.
Is a bridal trial worth it?
We recommend it. The trial lets you see the look and test it with your veil or accessories. You can change anything before the big day. It also lets us plan timing, so your wedding morning runs smoothly for you and your bridal party.
What is a down-do?
A down-do is half up or partly pinned styling, with some of your hair left down. It's a good pick if you love your length but want the front held back for photos. Our Up-Dos and Down-Dos service covers both, so you can decide at the consultation.
Can you style my whole bridal party?
Yes. Day of Event for Bridal Party covers each member of your party, so each bridesmaid, mother, or flower girl can be added. Let us know your group size early, and we'll plan the order so everyone is ready before photos start.
