What hair color services does Rogue Salon offer?
Hair color at Rogue Salon covers root retouches, all over color with a glaze, color or clear glazes, and Men's Color Camo. Every color service starts with a consultation about your color history and your goal. It's for you if you want grey covered or blended, faded color refreshed, or more shine.
Who is hair color for?
Color here is for you if your roots are showing, your grey is coming through, or your shade has gone flat. Shore summers do that. Sun, salt water, and pool chlorine all fade color and dull shine.
It's also for anyone ready for a new tone. Our guests wear everything from deep burgundy to bright copper. If you want lighter pieces or a hand painted look, that lives on our highlights and balayage page.
Which color services are on the menu?
- Single Process Root Retouch. Fresh color on your regrowth.
- All Over Color with Glaze. A full color refresh finished with a shine glaze.
- Color or Clear Glaze. A tone and shine boost between color visits.
- Men's Color Camo for Grey Blending. A subtle grey blend for men.
Root retouch and all over color rates scale with stylist level. Our apprentices also offer a root retouch and a glaze at a lower rate. You'll find current color pricing on our Service Menu.
How does a color appointment work?
- Consultation. We review your color history, including box dye, and check your current shade. We agree on the formula and the result before we mix anything.
- Application. We section carefully and apply to your roots only or from root to ends, depending on the service.
- Processing. Your color develops while you relax, and we keep an eye on it.
- Glaze. We rinse, and All Over Color gets a glaze for shine and precise tone.
- Blow dry. We finish with a blow dry so you see the true result in the mirror.
How do you keep color from fading?
Wash with color safe products and cooler water. Hot water opens the hair and lets color slip out faster.
After the beach or the pool, rinse with clean water as soon as you can. A Color or Clear Glaze between full visits brings back tone and shine. For roots, most guests retouch every four to six weeks, depending on growth and contrast. Your colorist will suggest a simple plan before you leave. A fresh haircut also helps, since dry, faded ends grab and lose color unevenly.
What's the difference between grey coverage and grey blending?
Grey coverage colors over the grey completely. With a Single Process Root Retouch, we match your natural depth so regrowth looks soft rather than harsh.
Grey blending softens grey instead of hiding all of it. Men's Color Camo blends grey without leaving a flat block of color, so it looks like your own hair, just less salt. It's a good pick if you want to look rested, not dyed. Tell us how much grey you want to keep, and we'll blend to that.
Who does hair color at Rogue?
Sharon, our Co-Owner and Creative Director, leads our color work. She holds a Beth Manardi colorist certification, takes ongoing Redken classes, and loves color in all its forms. Brittani trains in Redken color, and Maria, our Master Stylist, is known for rich, dimensional color. Allie and Katie love lived in color. Our Senior Apprentice Maddie and Apprentice Stylist Hannah also list color as a specialty.

What is a glaze?
A glaze is a translucent layer of color that boosts shine and refreshes tone. A color glaze adds a hint of tone, while a clear glaze adds shine only. It helps your color last longer between appointments, and it's a nice refresh after a summer of sun and salt water.
How often should I retouch my roots?
Most guests retouch every four to six weeks. It depends on how fast your hair grows and how much your roots contrast with your color. Grey coverage on dark hair usually needs the shortest gap. Your colorist will suggest a schedule at your first visit.
Can you cover grey for men without it looking dyed?
Yes. Men's Color Camo for Grey Blending softens grey instead of covering every strand. It avoids the flat, shoe polish look that full coverage can give short hair. You keep some natural salt, and the grow out stays soft.
Is my color done in one visit?
Most color services are done in one appointment. Bigger changes, like going much lighter or undoing old box dye, may need more than one visit. Your colorist will map that out at the consultation so you know what to expect before you start.
Can you fix color done somewhere else?
Yes, we offer color correction. Start with a consultation so we can see your hair, ask what was used before, and plan the safest steps. Correction often happens in stages, and we'll be upfront about what your hair can handle.
