Hair Extensions

What extension methods does Rogue Salon offer?

Hair extensions at Rogue Salon are custom, one hundred percent human hair, added for length, fullness, or both. We offer No-Show Wefts, I-Tips, K-Tips, and Tape-Ins, and every extension service is quoted after a consultation. The right method and the amount of hair depend on your own hair, so we look before we quote.

Who are extensions for?

Extensions are for you if you want more length, more fullness, or both. Some guests have fine hair that never looks thick enough. Others cut short and miss their length, or want volume for a wedding season.

Your own hair still matters. We need enough of it to hold the extensions comfortably. That's why every extension service starts with a consultation, not an install. We'll tell you plainly if your hair isn't ready yet.

Which extension methods are on the menu?

  • No-Show Wefts. Discreet wefts for length and fullness.
  • I-Tips. Individual strand bonds, placed one by one.
  • K-Tips (Keratin Bonds). Keratin tipped strand bonds.
  • Tape-Ins. Lightweight wefts applied with tape.

Our extensions are one hundred percent human hair, and Sharon's specialties include DreamCatchers extensions. Our Service Menu lists extensions as by consultation. The quote depends on the method and how much hair you need.

How does getting extensions at Rogue work?

  1. Consultation. We look at your hair, ask what you want to change, and recommend a method. We talk about realistic length and fullness.
  2. Color match. If you're also changing your color, we usually do your hair color first so the extensions can be matched to it.
  3. Quote. Once we know the method and the amount of hair, we give you your quote.
  4. Install. We apply the wefts, tapes, or bonds in sections, placed where they'll hide in your hair.
  5. Cut and blend. We cut and style so your hair and the extensions move as one, then walk you through home care.

How do you care for extensions?

Brush from the ends up, holding the hair near the attachment so you don't tug on it. Keep conditioner and oils away from tapes and bonds. Dry the attachment areas fully after washing, and braid loosely before bed.

At the shore, salt water and chlorine are hard on extensions, since they can't draw moisture from your scalp. Wet your hair with clean water first and rinse right after swimming. Use a heat protectant every time you style. Keep up your maintenance visits so the attachments stay close to your scalp as your hair grows. If anything comes loose, call us rather than fixing it at home.

Which extension method fits your hair?

Tape-Ins lie flat and spread weight over a wider area, which often suits finer hair. I-Tips and K-Tips go in strand by strand, so we can place them exactly where you need fullness.

No-Show Wefts add length and fullness while staying discreet. K-Tips use a keratin bond, so they're replaced rather than reused when they grow out. We'll recommend one method for your hair at the consultation and explain why. If you also want brightness, plan your highlights or balayage with us first so the extension shade matches the finished color.

Who does hair extensions at Rogue?

Sharon, our Co-Owner and Creative Director, leads our extension work. She brings over 35 years in the styling industry, and DreamCatchers extensions are among her specialties, alongside color and blonding. That color background matters when we match extension hair to yours. Katie, a Junior Stylist, focuses on Tape-In and K-Tip extensions that grow out easily and feel like you.

Hair Extensions questions

Why are extensions quoted after a consultation?

The cost depends on which method suits your hair and how much hair you need for your goal. Someone adding a little fullness needs far less hair than someone adding several inches. We look at your hair first, then give you a real quote.

Can I swim at the beach with extensions?

Yes, with care. Wet your hair with clean water before you swim, and tie it up or braid it. Rinse and wash soon after. Salt water and chlorine dry extensions out faster than your own hair, because they can't get moisture from your scalp.

Do extensions damage your natural hair?

Not when they're installed well and maintained. Problems come from the wrong method for your hair, or from leaving extensions in too long as your hair grows. That's why we pick the method at the consultation and plan regular maintenance with you.

Can I color my hair with extensions in?

Yes, we can color your own hair around them. Extensions don't lift like natural hair. If you want to go lighter, color your own hair first and match the extensions to it. Ask us about pairing your install with a color service.

Can I heat style extensions?

Yes. They're human hair, so curling irons and flat irons work. Use a heat protectant every time and keep the heat moderate. Extensions can't repair themselves once they're damaged, so treat them a little more gently than your own hair.
