Hair Salon Serving Oceanport, NJ

This is our home town. We are at 700 Oceanport Ave, Suite 712, in the RiverWalk Center at Fort Monmouth, in the same building as Playa Bowls and Broadway Chicken. If you live in Oceanport you can be in the chair in under five minutes.

The town is in the middle of the biggest change in its history

For generations Oceanport's identity was tied to two things: Fort Monmouth and Monmouth Park Racetrack. Both are being rewritten right now.

Netflix bought the roughly 300-acre former Fort Monmouth site and is building a studio campus of about 1.1 million square feet with twelve soundstages, backed by a $387 million award under New Jersey's Aspire program. The first four stages are expected to open in 2027 on the Oceanport side, with the remaining eight on the Eatontown parcel by the end of 2028. Separately, a proposal for 350 units of fifty-five-and-over rental housing plus a 200-room hotel at Monmouth Park has gone before the Borough Council.

We are in the middle of that, literally. Our building is part of the RiverWalk Center on the redeveloped fort land.

What that means for us and for you

Two practical things. Production work brings people who need hair maintained on a schedule that is not their own, often at short notice, and we are the closest full-service salon to the campus. And the town is getting busier, which means appointment availability is going to tighten. If you have a stylist you like here, book your next appointment before you leave rather than calling in three months.

Being the neighborhood salon

There is a difference between a salon people drive to and a salon people walk into. We are both, and the local half changes how we work. If you live here we will see you at the grocery store, so a color we are not proud of is not something we can hide from. That is a good pressure to work under. It also means we will tell you when you do not need a service. If you came in for a full highlight and what you actually need is a gloss and a trim, we will say so and charge you for a gloss and a trim.

Everything under one roof

We do hair and nails in the same space. That is the whole reason the domain says hair and nails. A manicure while your color processes is a normal booking here, not a special request, and it turns two appointments into one.

On the hair side: color and color correction, balayage and highlights, extensions in one hundred percent human hair, keratin and smoothing treatments, cuts for women, men and kids, and styling from everyday blowouts through bridal.

Who works here

Rogue opened in 2016. Sharon and Brittani, a mother and daughter, own it and both still take clients, which matters because you can talk to an owner about a problem rather than a manager. There are eleven stylists and each has a page on this site, so you can read about someone and request them by name.

We also run an apprentice program. Apprentices take real clients at a reduced rate under supervision, which is how the trade is supposed to work and how our senior stylists were trained.

The racetrack side of town matters for scheduling too. Monmouth Park's meet brings traffic through Oceanport on race days, and Oceanport Ave is one of the ways in. If your appointment lands on a race afternoon, leave a little early. We would rather tell you that in advance than start a color service twenty minutes behind.

Parking, which people ask about

Free surface lot right at the building. No meters, no permit, no circling. For a three hour appointment that is worth more than it sounds.

Hours worth knowing

We are closed Mondays. Thursday runs late, to eight, which is the slot to ask for if you work a standard day. Saturday runs nine to four and books first. Sundays are by appointment only, so call rather than assuming we are closed.

Services

Book

Consultations for extensions, color correction and smoothing are free. We would rather spend fifteen minutes looking at your hair than guess at it.
